Obituary for John P. Baldwin
John P. Baldwin, 75, of Paragon, passed away Saturday, September 10th, 2022. He was born February 10th, 1947 in Indianapolis to his parents Paul L. and Jane E. (Sparks) Baldwin. He married Deborah "Debbie" (Day) Baldwin on April 7th, 2007. He was a resident of Indianapolis for most of his life and was a current resident of Paragon since 2014.
John is survived by his wife, Deborah "Debbie" (Day) Baldwin of Paragon; two children: Andrew Baldwin and Charlotte Baldwin; two granddaughters: Lily and Ivy; one brother, Peter (Joyce) Baldwin; two sisters: Paula Baldwin and husband, Thomas Roseman and Patricia (Jay) Hufford; three nieces: Heather, Emily and Kelly; two nephews: David and Gary; and several great nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, James Baldwin; sister, Jo Anne Hankins; and close friend, Shawn O'Haver.
John was a graduate of Decatur Central High School. He was an Owner/Operator Truck Driver for over 30 years before retiring in 2009. John was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Indianapolis. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening. John loved animals. John was a SSgt in the United States Air Force. John served three tours in Vietnam as a member of SAC and was a Gunner on helicopters. He was NCOIC and a Gunner on the first built C-130 'Puff The Magic Dragon'.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 6 pm on Tuesday, September 20th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
