Obituary for Jesse Eugene (Gene) Franklin

Jesse Eugene "Gene" Franklin, 95, of Camby, IN, died on November 18, 2012. Jesse was born to Howard T. & Dora (Hutchin) Franklin on February 19, 1917 in Lyons, IN. Jesse was a World War II Navy Veteran.

Jesse was a Mechanic for Detroit Diesel Allison Plant 5 for 35 years, retiring in 1980. Jesse was a member of the UAW Union. Jesse has lived in Camby, IN for the past 38 years. Jesse loved to tinker with motors.

Jesse is survived by 2 daughters, Sue (Larry) Doty of Greenwood, IN & Bonnie (Don) Pope of Mooresville, IN; a step daughter, Judith Ault of Bloomington, IN; 6 grandchildren, Shay Franklin Odell, Mike Franklin, Mandi Grogan, Kevin, Jeremy & Aaron Doty; 9 great grandchildren, Zane & Zeke Odell, Carlie Grogan, Aleena, Mitchell, Sherah & Jesse Franklin, Cooper & Layla Doty.

Calling hours for Jesse will be from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 & 9-10 am, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Stan Icenogle will officiate the 10 am funeral service on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. There will be a 12:30 pm graveside service at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons, IN where Jesse will be laid to rest.
