They met at a USO event where they danced to, soon to become their love song, “Begin the Beguine.” They were married in France on September 29, 1945.

She is survived by her daughters Martine Klein (William) Christensen of Camby, IN and Jeanette C Klein of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren Jacqueline B (James) Stevanus of Plain City, Ohio, Andrea L Miller of Wilmington, Delaware, Carl W (Sara) Christensen of Camby, IN, step grandson Eric C (Rachel) Christensen; great grandchildren Andrew Miller, Michael (Rachel) Miller, Jessica (Scott) Haldeman, Austin (Tiffany) Stevanus, MeganRenee Miller, Caroline Stevanus, Joelle Stevanus, Eleanor Christensen, Zachary Christensen, Killian Christensen; step great grandchildren Nathan Christensen, Skylar Christensen; great great granddaughter Kennedy Haldeman. She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Ellsworth “Don(ald)” Klein, her son David W Klein, her great granddaughter Katherine.

Jeanine was the last to pass of her husband’s 8 siblings & spouses families, leaving behind 16 nieces and nephews & their extended families, and the extended families of 2 predeceased nephews.

Jeanine was a very industrious person. She completed her grade school education at the age of 12 years, completed her trade school education at 14 years, and then began working as a beautician, first in France, then for many more years in the US. When she and her husband where raising their family, she worked in retail, and as a caterer. In her middle years, she soon was teaching the upholstery class she had taken a few years earlier. Jeanine subsequently became a very sought after upholsterer in her community when she started her own business that she ran until she was 73 year old. In addition, when she was widowed, she volunteered for the Kenmore Mercy Hospital’s Guild for 26 years earning an award for contributing 26,000 hours sewing craft items for Spring and Fall Bazaar Fundraisers.

While she loved to work, she had her passions…. Her annual vacation club took her on wonderful trips to popular nationwide parks and locations. Her flower gardens in front and back yards gave her and others much pleasure, where she planted and tended hundreds of annuals among many flowering perennials. Jeanine’s road trips to see her family in “the good weather!” blessed everyone. Making many trips independently each year, she made her last trip, which was to the East Coast, for a family gathering, at the age of 84.

As a member, she regularly attended Blessed Sacrament Church from widowhood until moving to Indiana.

Jeanine was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family.
