Obituary for Jaunita I Payne (Taylor)

Jaunita I (Taylor) Payne, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, November 1st, 2020. She was born January 28th, 1946 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to her parents Ivy L. and Mildred Taylor. She married Chester E. Payne on April 12th, 1962. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life.

Jaunita is survived by her husband of 58 years, Chester E. Payne of Indianapolis; two daughters: Tina (Sheldon) Baker of Indianapolis and Kim Payne of Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Tasha Viles, Ashley Wallace-Lewis, Ricky Elliott and Tiffany Baker; three great grandchildren: Shelby Curbeaux, Alexis Elliott, and Izayah Elliott; and two sisters: Sue Lay and Marcella Cole. Jaunita is preceded in death by both of her parents and one son, Ricky Payne.

Jaunita was a homemaker who was known for her big heart, great cooking, and her love for Jesus. She was a member of Charity Tabernacle in Indianapolis. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, November 5th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Jaunita will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
