Obituary for Janice E. Murphy

Janice E. Murphy, 81, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2014. Janice was born to Jim and Mima (Silkwood) Fornear on July 25, 1933 in Sesser, IL. She married Troy Murphy on Sept. 27, 1952.

Janice received her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana Central College in Indianapolis. She was Administrator/Director of Nursing for Millers Merry Manor in Mooresville for 8 years, retiring in 1994. She attended Mt. Gilead Church and enjoyed traveling, reading and gardening. She has lived in Morgan County since 1972.

Janice is survived by six children, David (Maribeth) Murphy of IL, Mike (Glenda) Murphy of Indianapolis, Jim (Tonya) Murphy of Mooresville, Gina (Dennis) Miller of Greenfield, Janella (Brad) Pryor of Greenwood and Tim (Leeann) Murphy of Valparaiso; 26 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Brandon, Zach, Vince, Christina, Brian, Jamey, James C., Corey, Kalen, Deena, Codey, Dallen, Victoria, Don, Garrett, James, Troy, Grace, Joseph, Adria, Gretchen, Jeffery, Georgeanne, Miranda, Dustin and six great grandchildren. Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mima Fornear; husband, Troy Murphy and two brothers, James and Jack Fornear.

Family and friends may gather for calling from 3-8 p.m., Tues., Nov. 25th and Noon-1 p.m., Wed., Nov. 26th at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, next door to Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Rick Miller will officiate the 1 p.m. celebration of life service on Wed., Nov. 26th at Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Janice will be laid to rest at Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville.
