Obituary for James H. Schooley

James H. Schooley, 94, of Mooresville, passed away Wednesday, December 15th, 2021. He was born February 16th, 1927 in Indianapolis to his parents, Glendon and Lola (Hastings) Schooley. He married the late Emma "Jean" (Wilson) Schooley on June 7th, 1947. Although he was a resident of Indianapolis for most of his life, he has been a resident of Mooresville since 2010.

James is survived by his two daughters: Kathy Schooley of Camby and Nancy (Fred) Sylvester of Florida; four grandchildren: Jamus, Scott, Corey, and Jordan; and five great grandchildren: Lance, Emma, Jackson, Dillon, and Cody. James is preceded in death by both of his parents; and his wife, Emma "Jean" (Wilson) Schooley.

James served in the United States Navy during World War II and served his country proud until he discharged in 1946. In 2015, his daughter Kathy, was blessed to be his guardian for an Indy Honor Flight, giving him the welcome home he so much deserved, after so many years later from serving his country. He was a Coordination Engineer at Eli Lilly and Co for 35 years until he retired in 1985. James was an excellent carpenter and built many amazing pieces of furniture. When James wasnt fishing, which he loved to do often, he had a lifelong passion for going to the casinos and attending auctions.

There are no services currently scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
