Hubert S. Hickey, 80, of Camby, passed away Sunday, January 8th, 2023. He was born December 31st, 1942 in Seattle, Washington to his parents Charles T. Hickey and Vara P. Grube, where he lived his early childhood. Hubert moved around alot and lived most of his life in California. He was a resident of Camby since 2004.

Hubert is survived by his nine children: Halimah Veon of Virginia, Eliyas Hickey of Virginia, Donald Hickey of St. Louis, Lucas (Shawney) Hickey of Indianapolis, Melinda Hickey of Camby, Davina Hickey of Mooresville, Viviana Hickey of Indianapolis, Magnus Hickey of Camby, and Michael Hickey of Camby; mother of his children, Renata Hickey of Camby; and seven grandchildren: Zeke, Jude, Alden, Aliza, Vara, Elliot, and Elliana. Hubert is preceded in death by both of his parents; and the mother of his two oldest children, Rasjidah Hickey.

Hubert obtained his Bachelor's degree in mathematics and a minor in physics from UCLA. He received his Master's degree in computer science from Ball State. Hubert worked in Maintenance for Menards in Camby for 15 years where he enjoyed helping people. Hubert was a dedicated Subud Brother. He loved tinkering, reading, spending time and playing with his grandchildren.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 12pm (noon) to 1pm on Saturday, January 14th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
