Obituary for Hazel M. Dorsett

Hazel Maxine Wilson Dorsett, 91, Mooresville, passed away April 23, surrounded by her family. She was born April 11, 1923, to Claude and Gertrude Buckler Wilson Cole in Rush County, IN. She graduated from Milroy H.S. in 1941 and Central Business College. She married Garrett Dorsett November 22, 1947, and he passed away March 2, 1990. She is survived by daughters, Martha Bronner (Bill), Camby, and Norma Catlett, Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Tammy Schneider and Scott Bronner (Camby), Danise Phillips (David), (St. Pete Beach, FL), Crystal Catlett and Nicole Bradley (Raleigh, NC), 16 great grandchildren, and a sister, Elaine Ball (Ray), (Morristown). Her brother, Wayne Wilson, and a sister, Jean Rainey preceded her in death. Hazel was an accomplished musician (pianist, organist, and violinist). Shorthand teacher, farm wife and secretary at Moldings and Chrysler. She was a 65-year member of Mt. Gilead Church. She enjoyed attending gospel music concerts, high school alumni functions, sewing, embroidery, flowers, gardening, writing letters, couponing, traveling, the state fair, and her friends and family. Special thanks to Miller's Merry Manor, where she resided the last four years, Jones Family Mortuary, Pastor Terry Crist, Hazel's nephew, Hubert Perry, and Sue Lannan.
