Obituary for Harold McBryar

Harold "Mac" McBryar, 75, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2020. He was born to James and Essie (Stone) McBryar on December 10, 1944 in Crossville, AL. He was a 1963 graduate of Wood High School in Indianapolis. He married Linda S. (Coombs) McBryar on October 22, 1991.

Mac is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Linda McBryar of Mooresville; two sons, Tim and Hody McBryar of Mooresville; a stepson, Chris Hanner of Beech Grove; a stepdaughter, Donna (Dave) Spurlin of Speedway; a brother, Rex (Sheila) McBryar of GA; eight grandchildren, Eric Scheffel, Megan McBryar, Brittney McBryar, Morgan LeBlanc, Lauren McBryar, Jenna McBryar, Hody McBryar Jr., Matthew Hanner; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hody and Jimmy McBryar.

Mac was a Machine Operator for Allison Transmission in Speedway for 36 years, retiring in 2001. After retiring from Allison Transmission, Mac and his wife, Linda, moved back to Alabama where they owned and operated Mac's Chicken & Fish House for 10 years.

Mac was a member of Camby Community Church. He was an avid Sprint Car fan, followed Alabama football, loved gardening and cooking. He lived in Mooresville for 10 years, Indianapolis for most of his life and 16 years in his birthplace of Crossville, AL. His family described him as a hardworking and generous man.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. After the visitation, Mac's wishes was to be cremated and then be buried at Hopewell Cemetery in Geraldine, Alabama.
