Obituary for Glen Mitchell Rhoton

Glen Mitchell Rhoton, 89, of Greenwood, IN, died on June 1, 2012. Glen was born on May 20, 1923 to Cecil & Mae (Goad) Rhoton in Tompkinsville, KY. Glen married R. Louise (Bean) Rhoton on December 27, 1944.

Glen worked as a Mechanic for Uniroyal in Indianapolis, IN for many years, retiring in 1982.. Glen was a founder, organizer & Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Madison Township Fire Department for about 53 years. . Glen has lived most of his life in Mooresville, IN and his birthplace of Tompkinsville, KY for 18 years.

Glen is survived by his wife, R. Louise (Bean) Rhoton of Greenwood, IN; a daughter, Glenda Darene Gearlds of Franklin, IN; a granddaughter, Andria (Bill) Scales of Greenwood, IN; great granddaughters, Melanie Peacock of Greenwood, IN & Samantha Scales of New Whiteland, IN; a brother, Garmon Rhoton of Tompkinsville, KY; 2 sisters, Modella Mattingly of Hardinsburg, KY & Genoa Shirley of Tompkinsville, KY. Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil & Mae (Goad) Rhoton & 2 sisters, Maerene Crusenberry & Gearlene Dill.

Calling for Glen will be from 4-8pm, Monday, June 4, 2012 & 2-3pm, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Terry Crist will officiate the 3pm funeral service on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Glen will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville, IN.
