George Earl Gault, 92, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, March 12th, 2023. He was born July 25th, 1930 in Camby to his parents George Anderson and Lucy (Richardson) Gault. He married the late Joyce M. (Gray) Gault on June 13th, 1950. He was a resident of Camby for most of his life.
George is survived by his five children: Diana (Tim) Van Slyke of Camby, Lynn Gault of Florida, Michael (Patti) Gault of Mooresville, Terry (Mike) Bird of Nashville, Indiana, and Matthew (Deanna) Gault of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters: Winnie Patton, Barbara Thayer, and Linda Dennison. George is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Joyce M. Gault; one daughter, Tracy Harris; three brothers: Richard Gault, Carl Gault, and Clarence Gault; and three sisters: Ruby Hugill, Gladys Weaver, and Lillian Rackley.
George was a 1949 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He later joined the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. George was a Instrument Repair Mechanic for Allison General Motors Division for 37 years before retiring in 1987. He was attended First General Baptist Church in Indianapolis and enjoyed his involvement with the church. George loved to go hunting, especially with his brothers in his younger years.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 2 to 8 pm on Friday, March 17th and from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, March 18th at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, 4161 E. Allison Road, Mooresville, IN 46158. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 am Saturday, March 18th following visitation at the banquet center. George will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
