Obituary for Fred Emil Luka

Fred Emil and Margo Mae Luka, of Stilesville, suddenly passed away only 26 minutes apart due to an unforeseen accident. Fred was born in Decatur, IL on June 20, 1936 to the late William Luka and Emma (Schamanski) Luka Kayhs. Fred and Margo were married 62 years uniting in marriage on October 18, 1958.

Fred served in the United States Navy for four years as a Seabee. He later went on to work for the Carrier Division of United Technologies in Indianapolis as a factory worker / press operator for 30 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Good Guys Car Club; National Street Rod Assoc; enjoyed working on/restoring automobiles, was an avid participant and attendee of various car shows; greatly enjoyed yardwork and loved his family dearly.

Both Fred and Margo were active members for almost 40 years at Lakeview Church. Both were fervent lovers of the Lord and Fred in particular was passionate about Bible prophecy.

Fred and Margo are survived by their 2 children: Kim Nichols of Plainfield, IN and Randall "Randy" (Karleen) Luka of Mooresville, IN; 4 grandchildren: Jeremy Giddens, Shannon Cooper, Thomas Buckrop, Lydia Myers; 6 great grandchildren: Braden, Madison, Brody, Israel, Emma and Layla.

Fred is also survived by his sister, Helen Entler of Illinois and preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers and 6 sisters.

Private visitation and cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. A memorial service for family and friends will be scheduled at a later date.

Per their wishes, please refrain from sending flower arrangements as Margo only wanted flowers while she was alive. We know she is now tending the garden of Heaven.
