Obituary for Douglas A. Pence

Douglas A Pence, 78, of Camby, passed away Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021. He was born December 25th, 1942 in Switzer, West Virginia to his parents, Herbert and Rosie K. (Duty) Pence. He married Irma F. (Clark) Pence on October 31st, 1966.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Irma F. (Clark) Pence of Camby; two sons: Steven D. (Heather) Pence of Camby and Michael L. (James Monroe) Pence of Florida; two grandchildren: Zachary Pence of Greenwood and Sophie Pence of Camby; two sisters: Sue Hostetter of Indianapolis and Lillian (Douglas) Stone of Piketon, Ohio; and one brother, Woody (Anna) Pence of Martinsville. Doug is preceded in death by both of his parents; three brothers: Billy Duty, Herbert and Donald Pence; and one sister, Rosemary Rhodus.

Doug attended McKell High School in South Shore, Kentucky. He later on joined the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War and discharged in 1969. Doug worked as a Foreman for Amtrak in Indianapolis for 37 years. He loved old cars and Ford vehicles. Doug enjoyed being with family and tinkering and working on projects. He was described as a genuine man.

A private visitation will be held at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Doug will be laid to rest at the Pence Family Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky.
