Obituary for Donald Bruce Stantz

Donald "Bruce" Stantz, 67, of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, September 7th, 2021. He was born December 29th, 1953 in Indianapolis to his parents, Marvin Walter and Patricia Anne (Harkema) Stantz. He married Jacquelyn (Abbett) Stantz June of 2006. He was a resident of Indianapolis until 1994, then he moved to Martinsville where he had resided ever since.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jacquelyn (Abbett) Stantz of Martinsville; two daughters: Carrie (Jeff Sharp) Robinson of Indianapolis and Neely Stantz of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren: Ethan Robinson, Nessly (Grant) Bailey, Kimberly Abigail Johnson, Justice Sprinkle, Dror Sprinkle, Melina Sharp, Isabella Sharp, and Avery Sharp; two great grandchildren: Harper Thomas and Lennon Bailey; and two brothers: Mark (Nancy McDonough) Stantz of Morgantown and Doug Stantz of Beech Grove. Bruce is preceded in death by both of his parents and one grandson, Samson Johnson.

Bruce was a 1972 graduate of Beech Grove High School. He later joined the United States Air Force where he was a Airman First Class during the Vietnam War. He later discharged in 1978. Bruce was a Machinist for Kadel Engineering for over 20 years before retiring in 2015. He was often described as a tender hearted man and loved Rock N Roll music. Bruce was an animal and nature lover, who often enjoyed boating at Lake Monroe along with kayaking and skiing. In his spare time he loved to go hiking and horse keeping. Bruce was a former race car driver, who was a season champion in Sportsman Class at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
