Dixie Lee (McGowen) Wagoner, 78, of Spencer, IN passed away Monday, December 15th, 2020. She was born March 1st, 1942 in Indianapolis to her parents, Roy E. and Julia (Gates) McGowen. She was a resident of Mooresville for most of her life. She also previously resided in Eminence and Martinsville.
Dixie is survived by her two daughters: Kellie (James) Wilson of Martinsville and Kristie (Bryan) Bonnewell of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Kim (Harold) Goldsberry of Mooresville; one brother, Mike (Lisa) McGowen of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Dixie is preceded in death by both of her parents; one daughter, Joy Fidler; and two brothers: Jack and Tim McGowen.
Dixie was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School. She was a supervisor for several years at Nice-Pak in Mooresville. Dixie was a member of Mooresville Free Methodist Church. She loved fishing and mushroom hunting. Dixie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known as a kind-hearted woman that was loved by many.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, December 18th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A graveside service will be held at 10 am, December 19th at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield where Dixie will be laid to rest.
With the new instructions issued by the State allowing gatherings up to 25 people, we welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines and proper mask wearing. You may be asked to wait outside the building as we comply with this mandate.
