Obituary for Deanna L. Coates (Bucy)
Deanna L. (Bucy) Coates, 72, of Camby, passed away Tuesday, March 14th, 2023. She was born April 16th, 1950 in Indianapolis to her parents Joe and Shirley (Coble) Bucy. She married David Allison Coates on December 31st, 1968. She was a resident of Camby for most of her life.
Deanna is survived by her husband, David Allison Coates of Camby; three sons: Kevin Coates of Indianapolis, Aaron (Cathy) Coates of Westfield, and Zachary Coates of Camby; and one grandson, Alex Coates of Westfield. Deanna is preceded in death by both of her parents and two brothers: Stephen and Ed Bucy
Deanna was a 1968 graduate of Decatur Central High School. She attended Camby Community Church. Deanna was a homemaker and loved to spend time with family. She found that most important to her. Deanna was an avid reader, she enjoyed mysteries and period novels. She was an early advocate for the rights of the handicapped.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 16th and from 11 am to 12 pm (noon) on Friday, March 17th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 pm (noon) on Friday, March 17th following visitation at the funeral home. Deanna will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
