Obituary for David Earl Kollman

David Earl "Dave" Kollman, 76, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 18th, 2021. He was born August 1st, 1944 in Indianapolis to his parents, Earl Foltz and Mary Gertrude (Saxton) Kollman. He married Mary Jo (Devlin) Kollman on October 14th, 1967. He was a resident of Indianapolis for several years.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Mary Jo (Devlin) Kollman of Marietta, Georgia; two children: Lisa (Chris) Kollman-Grier of Marietta, Georgia and Scott Alan (Christine) Kollman of Jefferson, Georgia; and four grandchildren: Lindsey, Addison, Jacob and Bradley. Dave is preceded in death by both of his parents; and one sister, Barbara (Kollman) Wagaman.

Dave was a 1962 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He later attended Purdue University where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. Dave served in the United States Army for 22 years, he was a Lieutenant Colonel. Dave retired in 2005 from GlaxoSmithKline after 21 years as a Division Manager. He was a member of the Indianapolis VFW and the American Legion in Marietta, Georgia. Dave was also a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia. He loved baseball, his favorite team to follow was the Atlanta Braves. The Indiana Pacers was the team of choice, when watching another sport he loved, basketball. He was also a fan of golf.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 12 pm (noon) on Friday, July 23rd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 pm (noon) following visitation at the funeral home. Dave will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
