Obituary for Cpl Darrell Lawrence "Dairitto" "Brother" Reeves

Corporal Darrell Lawrence "Dairitto" and "Brother" Reeves, 51, of Greenwood, walked home to Jesus at 12:47pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023. He was born in Alma, MI on September 19, 1971 to Lawrence James and Darlene Joyce (Reynolds) Reeves. He married Evelyn Margareth Gavidia - Reeves "My Love" on May 21, 2022. Darrell's Dad and Grandpa Herbert were both war time veterans, so Darrell prominently resided in Michigan, North Carolina, and Indiana.

Darrell is survived by his parents; wife; son, Alexander James "Alec" "Dad's Ace" Reeves of Greenwood; two step children: Esthefany Margareth Hernandez and Pedro Antonio Hernandez both of Venezuela; sister, Tracey Reeves; sister, Heather Reeves Smith and brother in law Kevin Smith; cousin, Joel Seeley and wife Veronica Harris Adil; nephews: Cody Weber and Collin Auty; close friend and military sister, Mandy Lewellen of NC; sister in Christ, Kristina Hornaday - Alberts; and his friend Christian. Darrell is preceded in death by his grandfather and best friend, Herbert Chanceford Reynolds and his beloved grandmother Pearl Mae Reynolds.

Darrell was an educated and motivated man attending both Hemlock High School and Mount Pleasant High School where he graduated in 1990. He received a Associates Degree from Montgomery Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University. He also attended Arizona State University for electrical engineering.

Darrell was a proud veteran of the United States Marines joining in 1990 and being discharged as an E-4 Corporal in 1996. During his time in the military he was stationed at Cape Zampa and West PAC Camp Foster both in Okinawa Japan and Camp LeJeune in North Carolina.

Darrell was a Human Resources Assistant for Indiana Army National Guard for the last 4 years. He joined the Marine Corps League Lewis "Chesty" Puller Detachment 1396 on June 21, 2021, where he was Senior Vice Commandant. He was Senior member of Civil Air Patrol for United States Air Force Auxiliary, was a Technician for Amateur Radio, and was a participant of Central Indiana Christian Singles (CICS).

Darrell was a funny, humble, gentle man, and was amazing with kids. Many of his friends and family also knew his passion was music. He could sing, play the piano, accordion, and drums and he played guitar for the worship team at his church.

Darrell wore many hats. He was a school bus driver, held his chauffeur license, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

On a more personal level Darrell was a servant of God attending and member of The Point Church, Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene, and Iglesia Arca De Dios where he also led Bible Studies. He was known for always putting others first and one last expression of his selflessness he donated many vital organs to over 80 potential recipients.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 5-8 pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 with additional visitation from 9-10 am, Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. The celebration of life service will be held at 10 am, Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Following services military rites will be performed at 1 pm at Crown Hill Columbarium Annex, 725 W 42nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46208. MCL funeral service led by Paymaster and Friend Christian Ramirez

A dinner reception will follow graveside services from 5 to 8 pm at Mooresville First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Rd, Mooresville, Indiana 46158. Food and service provided by the ladies of Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene.
