Obituary for Dalphine Claire Sisk (Baird)

Dalphine Claire (Baird) Sisk, 87, of Mooresville, Indiana passed away Tuesday, August 24th, 2021. She was born August 25th, 1933 in Metropolis, Illinois to her parents, Earl Baird and Beulah Mae (Wrye) Homberg, where she spent her early childhood. She married Raymond Ernest Sisk on April 1st, 1955. She was a previous resident of Kankakee, Illinois for 60 years. Dalphine resided in Mooresville, Indiana for the past few years.

Dalphine is survived by her two children: Marla (Tim) Eash of Camby, Indiana and Robert (Patty) Sisk of Aroma Park, Illinois; five grandchildren: Chris (Toni) Eash of Plainfield, Indiana, Michelle (Mark) Query of Zionsville, Indiana, Susan (Mike) Estes of Mooresville, Indiana, Jennifer (Scott) Pearce of Marion, Illinois, and Kaitlin (Todd) Fitzmaurice of Chesterton, Indiana; 11 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and best friend, Barbara Nowman. Dalphine is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Raymond Ernest Sisk; one son, Ronald Lee Sisk; her grandson, Caden Query; two brothers: Hubert and Jerry Baird; and one sister, Mildred Meinders.

Dalphine was a Fitness Director for 21 years at YWCA in Kankakee, Illinois. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Manteno, Illinois. Dalphine enjoyed bowling and was a part of a bowling team that she sponsored called River Lane. She was an avid reader. Dalphine was known by many as an entrepreneur that was very kind and friendly. She later started her own fitness company called River Lane Studio out of her home and ran it for 30 years.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
