Obituary for Dallas L. Swank

Dallas L. Swank, 89, of Camby, passed away Saturday, January 8th, 2022. He was born February 2nd, 1932 in Crawfordsville to his parents, Clyde and Zelma M. (Paxton) Swank. He married Lilith (Atchley) Swank on September 21st, 1956. He was a previous resident of Plainfield for 24 years and most recently was a resident of Camby for 4 years.

Dallas is survived by his two children: Jerald (Vicky) Swank of Camby and Janet (Kevin) Long of Mooresville; three grandchildren: Justin (Melissa) Long, Ryan Long, and Austin Long; and seven great grandchildren: Mikayla, Eli, Nathaniel, Emmy, Carter, Katelyn and Isaac. Dallas is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Lilith (Atchley) Swank; and four siblings.

Dallas was a 1950 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He obtained his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Indiana Central College. Dallas served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a CFO for Community South Hospital for 30 years. Dallas was a member and Deacon of Friendswood Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing tennis and softball, he was a big sports fan, especially the Yankees and Pacers. Dallas loved listening to music. He enjoyed spending time with family and loved his work.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on Friday, January 14th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 14th following visitation at the funeral home. Dallas will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
