Obituary for Colette A. Garner (Welsh)

Colette A. (Welsh) Garner, 86, of Mooresville, passed away Monday, June 27th, 2022. She was born July 26th, 1935 in Indianapolis to her parents William Welsh and Lonettia Davis. She married Robert N. Garner on January 19th, 1957. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life and a resident of Mooresville since 1990.

Colette is survived by her husband, Robert N. Garner of Mooresville; two sons: Kevin (Kim) Garner of Indianapolis and Bruce (Diana) Garner of Beech Grove; two step daughters: Dee Marquam of Indianapolis and Pat (Jim) Lilly of Mooresville; and several grandchildren. Colette is preceded in death by her mother, Lonettia Davis; her dad, Roy E. Davis; and her twin sister, Coleen Cain.

Colette was a 1953 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She was a Switch Board Operator for Indiana Bell for four years. Colette took pride in being a Homemaker. She was a member of Camby Community Church as well as a member and Vice President of the P.T.A. for Wayne Township schools. She was a Sunday School Teacher at Lynhurst Baptist Church. Colette was a den mother for cub scouts and enjoyed camping, especially with family. She loved all kinds of music.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 30th and from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Friday, July 1st at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 am following visitation on Friday, July 1st at the funeral home. Colette will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
