Chet L. Uhls, 80, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018. He was born on April 17, 1938 to Aubie A. and Edna A. (Matlock) Uhls in Indianapolis. He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1956. He served our country honorably by serving in the United States Army.

Chet is survivedd by three loving children, Gary (Angie) Uhls of Mooresville, Diana McCown of Indianapolis and Carla (Rick) Waltman of Nashville, IN; four loving grandchildren, Jeremy, R.C., Robyn and Billy; two great-grandsons, Garrick and Nate; and a brother, Richard Uhls of Indianapolis. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Uhls.

Before retiring in 2000, he was a Commercial Cabinet Maker for William Herman & Son in Indianapolis for 33 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cabinet building, metal detecting, visiting the casino and watching sprint car racing. His family described him as generous, strong-willed, opinionated, stubborn and a great provider.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 4th in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Josh Cunningham will officiate Chet's celebration of life graveside service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 5th in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
