Obituary for Chester E. (Cuz) Cordray

Chester E. "Cuz" Cordray,82, Mooresville, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2014. Chester was born to John and Mary (Ely) Cordray on June 20, 1932 in Mooresville. Chester married Delsie (Groce) Cordray on July 25, 1950.

Chester "Cuz" was a Brick Mason for Randy Beard Construction Company in Mooresville for 23 years. Previously, he worked for Brooklyn Brickyard for 28 years. He was an Army Veteran. He was also a member of Mooresville Eagles Lodge. He has lived in Brooklyn for 64 years and Indianapolis for 17 years.

Chester "Cuz" is survived by four children, Patty Keen and John W. Cordray both of Indianapolis, Tom (Marisa) Cordray and Jerry Wayne Cordray, both of Mooresville; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson; and a companion, Flora King of Indianapolis. Chester is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Cordray; his wife, Delsie Cordray; a brother and three sisters.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2014 and 10-11 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Paul Scott will officiate the 11 a.m. celebration of life service on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. Chester "Cuz" will be laid to rest in Centenary Cemetery, Mooresville.
