Obituary for Carolyn Ann Williams (Burnside)

Carolyn Ann Williams, age 84, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 2, 2022. Carolyn was born on January 26, 1938, to Andrew and Susie Burnside, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

After graduating from Decatur Central High School in 1956, she married her high school sweetheart Dale Williams, who was also in her graduating class. They were married on June 29, 1956 for 65 years and went on to have three children, Brad, Amanda, and Shelly.

Carolyn enjoyed working with Dale in their family businesses, as well as cooking for and entertaining family and friends. She was a long time volunteer for Decatur Central 4-H Horse and Pony Club. She enjoyed horse back riding, attending horse shows in her younger days, fishing, boating, reading, vacationing in Gatlinburg, visiting with friends, and had a soft spot for all animals. However, her greatest love was spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren on the farm after selling their businesses and retiring.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dale of Coatesville; children, Brad (Cheryl) Williams of Danville, Amanda Williams of Indianapolis, Shelly (Jeff) Fuehrer of Coatesville, brother Donald Burnside of Indianapolis, grandchildren, Courtney Williams, Kayla Williams, Kendahl Williams, Andrew Williams, Wyatt Fuehrer, Josie Fuehrer, and great grandchildren, Cody Edwards, Cadence West.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, father, and mother in law, Tilford and Vanda Williams.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, April 5th and from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on April 6th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Steve Ranson will officiate a celebration of life service following visitation at 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 6th at the funeral home. Carolyn will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
