Obituary for Carolyn Lynn Mathis

Carolyn Lynn Mathis, 49, of Camby, passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, 2014. Carolyn was born to Milton and Mary (Sizemore) Mathis on April 13, 1965 in Franklin.

Carolyn graduated from Indian Creek High School in 1983. She was a Cashier for Speedway Gas Station in Mooresville for 8 years, retiring in 2013. She enjoyed making jewelry and spending time with family.

Carolyn is survived by a daughter, Christina (Mark) Burpo of Camby; a son, Jason (Kristan) Fleener of Camby; six grandchildren, Mark Jr., Michael, Tanner, Mary, Raelynn and Remington; her boyfriend, Jimmy Lewis Sr. and a sister, Lisa Mathis of Danville. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mary (Sizemore) Mathis.

Family and friends may attend calling hours from 2-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 and 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Arthur Brown will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Carolyn will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
