Obituary for Carolyn Sue Fowler

Carolyn Sue Fowler of Franklin died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital South Campus, following a long illness. She was 74. Born Oct. 10, 1938 in Indianapolis. She was a daughter of the late Wendell Eugene "Gene" and Monta Sarah (Lewis) Fowler. Miss Fowler graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1956, where she enjoyed playing the clarinet in the band. She attended Butler University from fall of 1956 thru spring of 1958, where she had an interest in the field of art and design. A favorite hobby was sewing. She also participated in their Annual Spring Sing.

Places of employment include Stokely-Van Camp, Eli Lilly & Company (where she was Secretary and an expert at shorthand). In addition, she worked for the Department of Air Force as a Secretary at Allisons, where she retired after 26 years of service.

Survivors include sisters, Norma Jean (Gary) Smith of Avon and Mary Lou (Larry) Morgan of Greenwood, a brother, Clyde Eugene (Kay) Fowler of Trafalgar, as well as nieces, Mary Jo Pennington, Heather Fowler and Holly Spicer; and nephews, Russell Lee Morgan, Barry Fowler and Brandon Fowler; and also several great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013 and 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Marion Glover will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Fairview Cemetery (United Methodist Church) on Wilbur Road, Martinsville, IN.
