Obituary for Carol A. Colvin

Carol A. Colvin, 81, of Monrovia, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 8, 2014. Carol was born to Fred Goff and Dorothy (Byfield) Ferguson on Jan. 8, 1933 in Indianapolis. She was a 1951 Plainfield High School Graduate. Carol married George D. Colvin on Aug. 8, 1951.

Carol was a Proof Reader for American States Insurance Company in Indianapolis for 35 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Belleville Bible Baptist Church and active in the women's group at church. She was also a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Monrovia-Martinsville Order of the Eastern Star Chapter. She was a Past Grand Marshall of the Monrovia Festival. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, facebook and euchre. She has lived in Monrovia most of her life.

Carol is survived by her husband of 63 years, George D. Colvin of Monrovia; a daughter, Cathy Cooke of Monrovia; a son, David (Vicki) Colvin of Monrovia; four grandchildren, Joel and Jacob Cooke, Heather Clay and Ryan Colvin and one great granddaughter, Hadley Clay. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Goff and Dorothy Ferguson and two brothers, David and Fred Goff.

Family and friends may gather from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 and 9-10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor John Parsons will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. Carol will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
