Obituary for Carmel Lee "Connie" Butler

Carmel Lee "Connie" (Davis) Butler, 101, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, December 9th, 2021. She was born August 18th, 1920 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky to her parents Arnie and Tessa Vera (Brandon) Davis, where she lived until she was 16 years old. She married the late John T. Butler. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life.

Connie is survived by her three children: Sue Dague of Mitchell, Sharline Mayo of Mooresville, and John T. Butler of Brooklyn; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Connie is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, John T. Butler; seven children: Charles, Tony, Sandra, Roger Dale, Brenda, Mary Frances, and Ronnie; one granddaughter; two sisters: Opal and Pearl; and three brothers: Coy, Billy and Carl.

Connie was a homemaker who enjoyed art and flower-vegetable gardening. She was a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church. Connie was known for having a great sense of humor and loved to play jokes on people. She had a great heart and would help anyone she could.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 16th and from 12 noon to 1 pm on Friday, December 17th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm on Friday, December 17th following visitation at the funeral home. Connie will be laid to rest next to her late husband John T. Butler, at Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville.
