Obituary for Carl Scott Gibson

Carl Scott Gibson, 93, of Camby, IN, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2013. Carl was born to Ulric & Hattie Mae (Powell) Derrett on January 24, 1920 in Indianapolis, IN. Carl served our country bravely by being a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II. Carl married Helen M. (Nicholson) Gibson on October 31, 1947.

Carl worked as a Custom Cabinet Maker for Raup's Cabinet Company in Indianapolis, IN for 35 years. Carl was a member of the Indianapolis American Legion Post #495 and the Moose Lodge in Indianapolis, IN. Carl loved riding his Honda Goldwing with his brothers.

Carl is survived by his daughter, Donna (Mark) Mears of Camby, IN; 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Zachary & Joseph Walton; 3 great grandchildren, Kameron, Hunter & Skylar; 2 brothers, Raymond Gibson IN & Donald Gibson & 2 sisters, Dorothy Daubenspeck & Edith Gunter. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Ulric Gibson & Hattie Mae (Powell) Derrett; his wife, Helen M. (Nicholson) Gibson; a brother, Harold Gibson & 2 sisters, Ruth Burello & Mabel Mulkey.

Calling hours will be from 10-11 am, Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Billy Gott will officiate the 11 am Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary. Carl will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN.
