Diane (Sinclair) Dowden, 74, of Monrovia, passed away on November 20, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. Diane was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 8, 1947 to the late William E. and Roberta E. (Milliner) Sinclair. She married the late John E. Dowden on August 27, 1967.
Diane was a 1965 graduate of Monrovia High School and continued her education and obtained her Associates Degree in Welding from Ivy Tech Community College. She worked at Stewart Warner in Indianapolis as a Welder for seven years, where she had the opportunity to work on special projects that included several Indy Car race teams and NASA. She was also a member of Gasburg Baptist Church. Diane dedicated her whole life to her family. She was known as 'Nan' to many and will be forever cherished by her loving family and friends.
Diane is survived by her three children: Cindy (Jim) Dowden - Schmaltz of Monrovia, Joni (Jeff) Newlin of Monrovia and John (Megan) Dowden II of Monrovia; eight grandchildren: Michael Dowden, Jeffery Newlin, Avery Newlin, Emery Newlin, Amelia Dowden, Lydia Dowden, Stella Dowden and Celia Dowden; and sister, Beverly J. Martin (Sam Morton); niece and nephew Gina Everett (Kurt), Eric Martin (Ashley), as well as great nieces and nephews. Diane is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 10am - 2pm, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Gasburg Baptist Church, 11564 North Gasburg Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158. Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate the celebration of life service at the Church following the visitation at 2pm. Diane will be laid to rest next to her husband, John at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. Arrangements are entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville.
