Barbara V.  Wittenmyer (Shepard)
Barbara V. (Shepard) Wittenmyer, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2018. She was born on December 29, 1932 to Elmer Reginald "Reggie" and Goldabelle (Campbell) Shepard in Indianapolis.

Barbara is survived by four loving sons, Michael Johnson of TX, Brian (Jackie) Johnson of Fishers, Mark Johnson of Indianapolis and James (Tammy) Donovan of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Heather Smiley, Daniel and Kelli Donovan; six great-grandchildren; and previous spouse, Robert G. Johnson of Indianapolis. She is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Robert L. Wittenmyer; previous spouses, Leon Sabatier and Charles Donovan; and a son, Keith Johnson.

Barbara was a daycare provider out of her home for 30+ years. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church, former member of Garfield Christian Church and member of George T. Goodwin Community Center. She was known as the "Story Lady" as she read stories to students at Decatur Township Schools for many years. She loved gardening, baking pies, and playing scrabble. She was known as the "Hugaholic" everywhere. She lived in Indianapolis all of her life.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 31st and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1st at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate Barbara's celebration of life service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1st at Jones Family Mortuary. Barbara will be laid to rest in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
