Audrey L Winters, 86, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, December 17th, 2020. She was born May 1st, 1934 in Savage, Maryland to her mother, Rosetta May (McKinney), where she spent her childhood. She married Delbert L. Winters on February 14th, 1953. She was a resident of Mooresville for most of her life.

Audrey is survived by her four daughters: Shirley (Raymond) Smith of Mooresville, Deborah (Kevin) McHugh of Plainfield, Sandra (Ed) Higginbotham of Martinsville, and Doris Tackett of Quincy; seven grandchildren: Francisca, Robert, Jessica, James, Michael, Alan and Christopher; several great great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren: Elaina and Harmony Dunn; and three sisters: Connie Sherman of Maryland, Mitzie Eastwood of Colorado, and Dottie Libscomb of Georgia. Audrey is preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Delbert L. Winters; two grandchildren: Jedidiah and Brian; and two sisters: Louise and Janice.

Audrey was a 1952 graduate in Savage, Maryland. She loved reading autobiographies. Audrey especially loved all the grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed being around her family and having gatherings. Audrey loved Halloween and passing candy out to all the children.

Family and friends may show their loved and support from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, December 20th and from 12 to 1 pm Monday, December 21st at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, December 21st at the funeral home. Audrey will be laid to rest at Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville.

With the new instructions issued by the State allowing gatherings up to 25 people, we welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines and proper mask wearing. You may be asked to wait outside the building as we comply with this mandate.
