Obituary for Alma E. Smock

Alma E. Smock, 94, of Monrovia, IN, died on November 5, 2012. Alma was born to Lewis P. & Martha (Dawson) Davis on October 24, 1918 in Monrovia, IN. Alma married Charles H. Smock on December 7, 1940.

Alma was an Artist-Homemaker for 60 plus years. Previously, Alma was a Secretary for Ford Representative of Marmon-Harrington in Indianapolis, IN for 2 years. Alma graduated from Monrovia High School in 1937 and attended American School of Business for 1 1/2 years. Alma has lived in Monrovia, IN all of her life. Alma attended Monrovia United Methodist Church. Alma was a member of Central Indiana Art League, Heritage Art in Brown County, White Lick Art League, Artist Association & The Morgan County Art Colony.

Alma is survived by a close niece, Tina Smock Phelps of Greenwood, IN; a close friend, Vivian Lee of Monrovia, IN & a nephew, James H. Blunk. Alma is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis P. & Martha (Dawson) Davis and her husband, Charles H. Smock.

Friends may call 4-8pm, Friday, November 9, 2012 and 9-10am, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Services are at 10am, Saturday, November 10, 2012 with Eric Kersey officiating. Alma will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, IN.
