Obituary for Alberta Kay Bailey Crum

Alberta "Kay" Bailey Crum, 71, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2014. Kay was born to Kenneth and Lydia Lightle on Aug. 1, 1943 in Hartford City. Kay married Michael Crum on Nov. 8, 1997.

Kay was a Real Estate Broker in the Mooresville area for 34 years. She was the Operations Manager of The Plainfield Elks Club and a member of The Red Hats Society. Locally, she was known as "the computer wiz for seniors." She has lived in the Mooresville area since 1979 and 35 years in her birthplace of Hartford City.

Kay is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Michael Crum; two daughters, Christina (Mike) Evans and Caroline Koger; a son, Kenneth (Katharine) Brubaker; three step daughters, one step son; five grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren and a brother, Dee (Reba) Lightle. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Lydia Lightle.

Family and friends may gather from 3-8 p.m., Aug. 21, 2014 and 9-10 a.m., Aug. 22, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Mike Conley will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Aug. 22, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. Kay will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
