Our Traditional Services

At Jones Family Mortuary we offer many Choices for conducting Funeral Services. We have prepared this page to help you understand what choices you have in making funeral plans for a traditional type of funeral.  This page deals with the traditional funeral, one that involves placing the deceased in a casket or vault and having a burial in a cemetery or interment in a mausoleum.  Many options are available to those who choose traditional funeral services. Below are some brief descriptions of those options, designed to help you make your decision in planning a traditional funeral service.

Full Traditional Service

This service includes 1 or 2 nights of visitation. Having visitation gives family and friends an opportunity to express their condolences and work through their grief. Photographs and memorabilia can be displayed to pay tribute to the life of the deceased, making the visitation and funeral more personal. The funeral would take place the following day with the graveside service or committal service to immediately follow.

Limited Traditional Service

This service includes a couple of hours of visitation just prior to the funeral service occurring all in the same day. Having just a couple of hours of visitation gives family and friends an opportunity to express their condolences and work through their grief. Photographs and memorabilia can be displayed to pay tribute to the life of the deceased, making the visitation and funeral more personal. Immediately following the funeral would be the graveside service or committal service.

Graveside Only

This service does not include any visitation or funeral. With this particular service family and friends would meet at the cemetery of choice for a brief graveside service or committal service with the burial or internment to follow.

Immdediate Burial

This service does not include any visitation or funeral. Nor does it include any formal graveside service or committal service. With this particular service the family usually wants the burial to take place as soon as possible, whether it be for religious or financial reasons, or just personal choice.
