Obituary for Carminta King Wright (King)

Carminta King Wright, 105, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 24, 1913 to Edward S. and Mary C. (Perigo) King in Lafayette, TN. She graduated from Barnes High School in Simpson County, Kentucky in 1932 and attended Western Kentucky College. She married Glenn E. Wright on December 25, 1935.

Carminta is survived by three loving children, Gary G. (Jewel) Wright of IL, Royce E. (Norman) Buckner of Martinsville and Phillip R. (Dawn) Wright of Mooresville; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and nine siblings.

Carminta was a homemaker. She was a member of Westlake Community Church of God where she was also a Sunday School Teacher for 48 years. She loved sewing, reading and bowling. She lived in Mooresville since 2006, Decatur Township from 1960-2006, Wayne Township from 1930-1960 and grew up in Kentucky.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10th and 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Dr. Doug Talley will officiate Carminta's celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11th at Jones Family Mortuary. Carminta will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
