Obituary for Paul G. Thomas

Paul G. Thomas, 92, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2018. He was born to Elias Herbert and Catherine Elizabeth Thomas on September 10, 1925 in Homeplace, IN. Paul served our country honorably and proudly by serving in the Army, Marines and Air Force. He married Catherine B. (Carrico) Thomas on September 13, 1955.

Paul worked as an Engineer for Babcock and Wilcox in Indianapolis for several years. He most recently attended Shadeland Baptist Church but also attended Cumberland United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with family and close friends. He especially loved his walks to Arts for biscuits and gravy. He lived in Indianapolis for most of his life.

Paul is survived by a stepdaughter, Phyllis Tranbarger of Coatesville; step son-in-law, Maurice Gentry of Camby; step-grandchildren, Steve Franke, Linda (Don) McKinley and Todd (Lisa) Gentry; several step-great-grandchildren; several step-great-great-grandchildren; very dear friends, Lorie Hannah, Carol Hoover, Ken Tegmyer and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; stepdaughter, Sue Gentry; four brothers, Wesp, John, William, and David Thomas.

Family and friends may gather to pay their respects from 11:30 a.m - 1 p.m on Saturday, January 20th in Shadeland Baptist Church, 7427 E. 34th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46226 with Pastor Randal Morris officiating Paul's celebration of life service at 1 p.m. Paul will be laid to rest in Washington Park East.
