Homer Edmond "Ed"  Underwood
Homer Edmond "Ed" Underwood, 81, Mooresville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Ed was born in Indianapolis, IN on November 9, 1936 to the late Homer Underwood and Dessie Gladys (Yates) Fields. Ed married Erika (Triebe) Underwood on September 4, 1999.

Ed was a truck driver for Transcon through Teamsters Local #135 for several years before retiring in 1992. Ed was a member of Mt. Gilead Church; avid fisherman; loved all kinds of games and really enjoyed bowling. Most of all he was a wonderful husband, fun loving, caring, and a friend to everyone. He was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Ed is survived by his wife, Erika Underwood of Mooresville; 10 children: Peggy Newlin of FL, Patsy Newlin of Bargersville, Danny Newlin of Martinsville, Polly (Chick) White of Mooresville, David Underwood of Mooresville, Steven (Kellie) Underwood of Mooresville, Scott (Irene) Underwood of Martinsville, Uwe (Billie) Roth of Mooresville, Kenneth (Sarah) Roth of TN and Erika (Rick) Whitehair of Martinsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and brother, Joe (Ruth Ann) Underwood of Greenwood.

Ed is preceded by his parents; first wife, Kay Sharon (Coomes) Underwood; daughters: Penny Newlin and Paula Underwood; brother, Bill Underwood and sister, Lola Steelman.

There will be a memorial gathering from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 East State Road 144, Mooresville, IN 46158. Pastor Jeff Faull will officiate the celebration of life memorial service on Monday following the gathering at 2 p.m. at the church.
