James D. Leaver, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2017. He was born to Richard and Esther (Adams) Leaver on October 3, 1944 in Jacksonville, TN. He served our country honorably by serving in the United States Air Force, Military Police Canine. He married Rebecca (Harrell) Leaver on August 8, 1967. Although they fought like cats and dogs, he loved his wife dearly.

James was a very proud Truck Driver for Yellow Freight, where he was a member of the Million Mile Club with no accidents. He was a member of Teamsters Local #135. He loved his boys. He was an avid baseball fan and loved fishing with his family. He was raised by his grandparents in Kettle, KY. He lived most of his life in Indianapolis.

James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca Leaver of Indianapolis; three loving sons, James (Chara) D. Leaver Jr. of Brownsburg, Jason (Katherine) Leaver of Carmel and William Leaver of Fishers; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Tommy Adams. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard Leaver.

It was James's wishes to be cremated and not have any formal service.
