Shirley May (Padgett) Jackson, 81, of Mooresville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2017 in Meadow Lakes. She was born April 24, 1936 in Vero Beach, FL to Legion and Mary Bell (Black) Padgett. She married James Jackson.

Shirley spent her childhood in Howey-N-The-Hills, Fl and lived most of her life in Mooresville. She was a cashier for Jackson's in Mooresville for 6 years and Kroger's in Mooresville for 27 years. She was a member of both Mt. Gilead and First Baptist Church both in Mooresville. She was also a member of the Mooresville VFW and Mooresville American Legion. She loved dancing and boating with her friends.

Shirley is survived by 3 children: Donna Sue (Jackson) Overton of Mooresville, James (Robin) Jackson Jr. of Mooresville and Frank (Lisa) Jackson of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and a brother, Donald Padgett of Howey-N-The-Hills, FL. She is also preceded by her husband; parents; daughter, Gail (Jackson) Scott; grandson, Isiaha Scott; brother, Kenneth Padgett and 8 sisters: Helen, Ellen, Audrey, Barbara, Ruby, Vernice, Thelma and Doris.

There will be a memorial gathering from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Don Endsley will officiate the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the funeral home. Shirley's wishes were to be cremated.
