Gladys R.  Wiley (Roberts)
Gladys R. (Roberts) Wiley, 94, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2017. She was born to Oakly and Tishabell (Eversole) Roberts on June 19, 1922 in Hyden, KY. She married Colonel Joe Wiley on December 23, 1950.

Gladys worked as a meat carver for Hygrades in Indianapolis for 13 years, retiring in 1964. She and her husband, Col. Joe Wiley, also ran the Marion County Sale Barn for 15 years. She was a life member of Mooresville Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing the Hawaiian Steel Guitar and singing in a band. When she sang, she was accused of sounding and looking like Kitty Wells, a famous, country music recording star. She lived in Mooresville for most of her life.

Gladys is survived by three sons, Robert (Patricia) Turner of Mooresville, David (Connie) Wiley of Trafalgar and Ed Wiley of Mooresville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Billy Turner; four brothers, John B. Griffith, Henry Roberts, Elmer Roberts and Matthew Roberts; and two sisters, Virgie Kays and Vada Soots.

Family and friends may gather to pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 and 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Wanda Allender will officiate Glady's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary. She will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
