Obituary for J. Clark Bordner

J. Clark Bordner, 73, of Plainfield, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital Indianapolis. He was born January 15, 1944 in Indianapolis to the late Joseph C. and Betty Lou (Piper) Bordner. He married the late Ellen Ann (Walker) Bordner on June 13, 1965. They lived together in the Decatur Township area for most of their life.

Clark was a 1961 graduate of Broad Ripple High School. He continued his education at Indiana University where he obtained both his bachelor's and master's degrees. Clark was a buyer for Carrier Corporation in Indianapolis for 20 years before retiring in 2008. He attended North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis; he was a member of the IU Alumni Association; avid IU football fan and 40 year season ticket holder; little league softball coach for over 30 years and varsity softball coach for Cardinal Ritter High School for 4 years.

Clark is survived by 2 daughters: Kari (Jeff Vest) Bordner of Noblesville and Amie (Greg) Tomaszewski of Plainfield; 2 grandchildren: Lizzie and Trent; sister in law, Cheryl Meadows of West Newton; nephew, Jeff Beasley and niece, Stephanie Meadows.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 and 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Rev. John McCoy will officiate the celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the funeral home. Clark will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
