Obituary for Lynda L. Burke (Burke)

Lynda L.  Burke (Burke)
Lynda L. "Dee Dee" Burke, 59, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2017. She was born to John C. and Lucille (Adcock) Burke on September 30, 1957 in Indianapolis.

Lynda graduated from Mooresville High School in 1976. After attending Ball State for a year studying general studies; she transferred to Indianapolis School of Practical Nursing where she obtained her LPN License. She was currently enrolled at Harrison College pursuing a degree in Medical Coding.

Lynda was a LPN for Methodist Hospital, Indiana School of Deaf, and several nursing homes and assisted living communities. She was a member of Church of Christ. She loved gardening, working with crafts, reading, crossword puzzles, shopping, especially with her nieces and nephews, listening to music, was an avid Colts fan and closely followed Notre Dame football and Butler basketball. She lived in Mooresville for most of her life.

Lynda is survived by her loving mother, Lucille Burke of Mooresville; two sisters, Barbara (Don) Cherry of KY and Donna (George) Moffat of Mooresville; one brother, John L. Burke of CA; several nieces and nephews; and her twin dachshunds, Sami and Lilah. She is preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Gerald and Kevin Burke; and two sisters, Paula (Burke) Conner and Judith Lacey.

Family and friends may gather from 3-8 p.m on Friday, March 3, 2017 and 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Ron Roberts will officiate Lynda's celebration of life service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Jones Family Mortuary. Lynda will be laid to rest in Mooresville Cemetery.
