Obituary for Charles E. Curts

Charles E.  Curts
Charles E. Curts, 87, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born to Delbert C. and Ruth Naomi (O'Neil) Curts on May 5, 1929 in Indianapolis. He was a 1948 graduate of Union Township High School in Bellmore. He served honorably in the US Air Force. He married Rheba J. (Beebe) Curts on January 19, 1963.

Charles was an Inspector for Detroit Diesel Allison in Indianapolis for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville. He was also a member of Brooklyn Masonic Lodge #471, Scottish Rite Indianapolis Valley and Past Patron of West Newton Order of Eastern Star #489. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed antique car restoration and jigsaw puzzles. He lived in Mooresville for the past 51 years, Arcadia, FL for 25 years and grew up in Belle Union/Rockville.

Charles is survived by a loving son, Robert (Sandy) Curts of Mooresville; six grandchildren, Chuck Curts, Joel Curts, Amy (Ragan) White, Jennifer (Ragan) Davenport, Dustin Brinkerhoff and Jennifer Brinkerhoff; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Curts of Pittsboro. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife; a daughter, Carla Sue Ragan; a great-granddaughter, Harper Curts; and two brothers, Jerald and Eugene Curts.

Family and friends may gather from 4-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville and 10-11a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Mt. Gilead Church, Mooresville. There will also be a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Pastor Terry Crist will officiate Charles's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Mt. Gilead Church. Charles will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
