Obituary for Carol Jean Burnett

Carol Jean (Gray) Burnett, 71, of Eminence, IN went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2016. She was born December 23, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN. She married Troy Burnett on October 5, 1962.

Carol lived most of her life in Eminence. She was a 1963 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She was a sales clerk for Eminence Trading Center from 1986-1991 and also worked for GNC in Martinsville from 1996-2001. She attended Corinth Baptist Church in Plano, IN where she was involved in the craft club. She also enjoyed reading, playing scrabble and boggle.

Carol is survived by her husband, Troy Burnett of Eminence; 2 children: Shannon (Denise) Burnett of Bargersville and Debbie (Vince) Hochstetler of Indianapolis; 2 grandchildren; Mallory and Hunter Burnett; spiritual son, John (Sandie) Dore of Ft. Wayne; 3 siblings: Kathy Holtke, David Gray and Morris Gray and a furry child, Cricket. Carol is also preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Shields and step father, Robert Shields and sister, Jeannette Herrin.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 and 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Gary LaFary will officiate the celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Carol will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery.
