Obituary for Patsy Standerfer (Jackson)

Patsy (Jackson) Standerfer, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Westside Garden Plaza. She was born May 7, 1929 in Ellis County, TX to the late Thomas Benton and Grace Laverne (Hitt) Jackson. She married Howard Lee Standerfer on November 27, 1958.

Patsy grew up in Plano, TX, lived in Chicago, IL for a short time and lived on the west side of Indianapolis since 2008. She was a 1947 graduate of Richardson High School. Along with being a homemaker, Patsy was a volunteer for the Republican Party. In 1995 she was named one of ten outstanding Republican Women for the state of TX. She likes to stay current in her political views as she spent her adult life in the civic and political arena. She also served on the library board for 10 years, was founder and board member of the Plano Heritage Association, and was Past President of Plano Business and Professional Women's Club.

Patsy is survived by her granddaughter, Caroline Calloway, nieces and nephews, and special friends Tracy and Rick Cornforth and Ron and Carol Cornforth. She is also preceded by her husband, Howard Standerfer and daughter, Susanne Standerfer.

Visitation for Patsy will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, IN. Visitation for Patsy will also be held 10-11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 with a celebration of life service to follow at 11 a.m. at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, Plano, TX. She will be laid to rest in Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, TX.
