Condolences

Condolence From: Janet & Tom Cotton
Condolence: Florence was a great mentor, always a lady, and a dedicated police officer. I (Janet) joined the police department in September, 1967. She was always willing to help me in becoming a good police officer. The family is proud and so is the Indianapolis Police Department.

Condolence From: Bettye Dobkins
Condolence: I am sorry to hear about the loss of Florence, mother, grandmother and aunt. Although I did not know Detective Guthrie, I developed much respect and admiration for her after reading her obituary. Not only her career as a detective, but her motivation to teach herself crocheting and canning. Learning this, leads me to believe she was a dedicated police officer and I thank her for being a pioneer for those of us who came to the profession after she carved the path. Thank you Florence, peace be with you.

Condolence: On behalf of the "Société de Police - IPD Adam & Edward," our condolences on learning of the passing of florence A. Guthrie. To the family we offer the following thought: "It was written: "Those who learned to know death, rather than to fear and fight it, become our teachers about life." We pray she has found "Eternal Rest."
